A TALE OF TWO CITIES

Why has Glasgow invested in  a £270 million Subway project to be completed for the 2014 Commonwealth Games, whilst Edinburgh has failed to deliver on a Tram project, currently at a revised cost estimate of £900 million?

Why has Glasgow been deprived of a rail link, from the provincial town of Paisley, to Glasgow International Airport, which would connect it to the global business community?

The  answer is found in the calamitous acrimony and bitter political rivalry between the SNP Separitists, Labour, and Libdem Councillors, which has caused the demise of projects essential to the regeneration of our economy, and has failed the expectations  of  Communities.

This catalouge of failure began in 2007 when the Labour/ Libdem  coalition set the objective of the Edinburgh Tram project against opposition from the SNP Separatists.
When in 2009 the SNP gained Council control, a deliberate hands off opposition to the project, allowed the enterprise to fail.
This was only countered by the dire threat of court action against the Council for maladministration!

With the Glasgow Airport Rail Link (GARL) we encountered the same hostility from an SNP Executive who refused to support the opposition  Labour party.

The intellectual capacity for cooperation and the ability to achieve goals and maintain objectives is being destroyed by vested Political interests, and renders Councils unfit to serve their Communities!

BRITANNICA :  People before Politics!
